| Marinella di Selinunte, whose name comes from the presence of the river Selino and the little port of Marinella, is in the the surrounding area of Castelvetrano. Founded at the end of the XIX century, as a fishing village, it is now one of the most important tourist areas i nthe province of Trapani with beaches and restaurants open until late.
Marinella di Selinunte, is also known for it’s delicious dishes which can be tried in any one of its many restaurants. These dishes include fresh fisn, the black bread of Castelvetrano, crushed aromatised olives and the nocellara del belice olive oil made from local olives
Selinunte is not only of interest because of the sea but also for its archaeology. Its archaelological park is the biggest in Europe. Here we can find the enormous archaeological complex made up of the Acropolis, from the western hill to the eastern hill, of the di Contrada Manuzza valley, the sanctuary of Malophoros and 2 Necropolis (Manicalunga and Galera Bagliazzo)
